The Supreme Court issued one of the most common-sense decisions you will ever see on Thursday, reminding Democrats that immigrants who live in the United States under Temporary Protected Status are only supposed to remain here temporarily. 

The ruling specifically states that Haitians and Syrians with TPS cannot receive judicial relief postponing the revocation of their status while they challenge the Trump administration’s efforts to get them out. The Department of Homeland Security celebrated the decision, saying, “The T in TPS stands for TEMPORARY, yet many of these designations became de facto amnesty. This is a win for the rule of law and common sense.”

Both Syrians and Haitians began receiving Temporary Protected Status more than 10 years ago. The latter did so because of an earthquake, which, over a decade later, is obviously over. Foreigners using TPS to stay in America forever would empower open-border zealots to exploit the well-intentioned protection as yet another vessel for flooding the U.S. with new liberal voters.
