Trump Endorses Biden’s Ukraine Policy?
Donald Trump drastically shifted his stance on Eastern Europe’s war on Tuesday, abandoning his view that Ukraine must sacrifice land to end its conflict in favor of the Zelensky government’s aim of fighting to the death until Russia retreats.
"After getting to know and fully understand the Ukraine/Russia Military and Economic situation and, after seeing the Economic trouble it is causing Russia, I think Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, is in a position to fight and WIN all of Ukraine back in its original form," the president wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post. “We will continue to supply weapons to NATO for NATO to do what they want with them,” he added.
Trump later told the press that “it looks like [the war is] not going to end for a long time.” That could mean thousands more American-sponsored deaths, all in the name of something that has nothing to do with our country.
What is going on here? Is Trump betraying his supporters by embracing the precise policy they voted against in 2024? Not exactly. We are told the rhetoric is a bluff to incentivize the Russians to come to the negotiating table. Hopefully it works.
