Ted Cruz Wants the White House. That’s Hilarious.
When Ted Cruz came to Washington, he did so with the stated intention of being the most pro-Israel lawmaker in Congress. He said so himself. Now, he hopes his America Second platform (at best) will carry him to the presidency.
The senator from Tel Aviv “is laying the groundwork for a 2028 presidential bid,” according to a Monday report, thinking that “staking out turf as a traditional, pro-interventionist Republican” will help with “endearing himself to powerful pro-Israel donors.”
“Cruz is putting himself on a collision course with Vice President Vance,” the Axios article reads, meaning he’s ready to oppose a real America First candidate and return the GOP to its days of openly shilling for special interests and neglecting the public’s needs.
Cruz is correct that running as an Israel First Republican will earn him plenty of financial support. He’ll be rich. But he won’t sniff the nomination. Voters are through with politicians who tell them that their government must prioritize foreign interests. Take a look at Liz Cheney’s political demise for proof. Cruz will suffer the same fate. It’s going to be hilarious.
