Trump Unveils Board of Peace, Could Remain in Charge Post-Presidency
Donald Trump unveiled his international Board of Peace during the World Economic Forum on Thursday, expanding on his vision for a rival to the United Nations and claiming Israel’s “war against Hamas” is essentially over.
The president was the first to sign the charter inaugurating the board, while leaders from over 20 other countries joined him in the ceremony. Benjamin Netanyahu was not one of them, as his presence would have led to his arrest.
Will the Board of Peace really lead to peace? The world remains on the edge of its seat to find out. Trump’s 20-point plan ultimately calls for Hamas to lay down its arms, which the group has refused to do as Israel continues its killing of Palestinian civilians.
Despite the region’s continued uncertainty, Jared Kushner on Thursday presented a slide deck laying out his vision for real estate development in Gaza and the construction of a new city.
